Frequently Asked Questions

What’s this event all about?

The Performance Workshop is an event for drivers who want to push their cars to the limit in a safe and controlled environment. You’ll meet some like minded enthusiasts, learn from professional instructors and use your car the way it was meant to be used!

What do I get?
Tons of seat time.
Pro Instructors.
Lunch.
Event T-Shirt.
Random Giveaways.
Karting event the night before.
A damn fun time.

What should I bring?
Car.
Helmet (DOT/SNELL/SA).
Throttle pedal.

What should I wear?
Jeans or long pants along with closed-toe shoes are required. Long sleeve shirts are not required but recommended. We know it’s Florida and can get extra hot to be wearing jeans in a parking lot all day, but hopefully we’ll get a cold front or something ya know?

I want to wear a crazy costume? Drive barefoot?
No.

I’ve never done something like this.  Can I do this?
Yes! Our events are designed for pros and amateurs alike.

Are these events safe?
There’s certainly risk involved with performance driving events like this, but we take every precaution possible to ensure your safety and your car’s pretty finish.  Courses are built very wide and with run off areas in the higher speed sections and are divided by water filled barriers in closer areas. There will be paramedics and an ambulance on site in case of an emergency.  You enter the event at your own risk.

What vehicle classes are there?
There is no vehicle classification with our events. The Performance Workshop events are non-competition format events. With our workshop environment, you are working to improve your own time and skills, not competing against other.

Groups will be split by skill-level and/or vehicle power. Be thorough on your registration form to help us determine the best run group to put you in.

Car numbers will be assigned by Full Auto Motorsports.

When is the pre-event thing happening?
Friday February 5th from 8PM-12AM – Tampa Bay GP. All registered drivers will get one free race at TBGP and can buy additional ones for a reduced price. This is not mandatory nor do you need to hang out for the full 4 hours…but it’s a free kart race, why not?

How does the groups thing work? Will it be scary / too difficult / confusing?
When you arrive at the venue, you will be given a driver packet that will include a decal package for your car with your car numbers and group number. Inside your packet will also be your schedule for the day. You’ll know where/when you need to be with your car throughout the day. We’ll also be yelling everything through the PA system and bullhorns to make sure you know if you’re in the wrong place!

What if it rains?
It’s Florida, so we can never rule this out. We do not stop or cancel the event because of rain. However, if the intensity of the rain becomes a traction/visibility problem we might take a short break from driving to let the storm blow through. Any lightning in the area will result in a full course stop and drivers will be asked to remain inside vehicles.

How long are the courses?
The GRIP Course is about .7mi long. The Drift course is about .5mi long. Both will be between 30 and 40 feet all the way around.

How do I prepare for the event?
Read and follow our safety and technical requirements and you’re good to go! We also recommend a healthy breakfast before the event..and pretty much every day, breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

What’s the timing system like?
We use a computer based timing system from Race America. The system is beam-activated and will be tripped when you start and again when you cross the finish line.

Can I get a refund?
Sorry, no refunds.

Are there tools available in case I break my car?
We will have a small amount of basic tools and a huge bag of zip-ties. If you borrow something, bring it back. If you use a zip-tie, make sure the snipped off end makes it into the trash.

I think my company would be a great fit as a Full Auto sponsor.  How do I make this happen?
Please contact us through the contact page to discuss sponsorship opportunities.

Most driving groups do (blank).  Why doesn’t Full Auto do it that way?
Full Auto is not ‘most driving groups’.  Full Auto does what Full Auto wants to do.

Do you accept mail-in entries?
Sorry - online entries only.

Can I bring my dog with me?
No, with a large amount of cars and adrenaline-fueled drivers around, this is not the right event to bring rover to.

I’m 17, can I drive?
Sorry bro, Full Auto events are only open to participants 18 years old and older.

I have a different question.  How do I find the answer?
